Do you have a special talent? Do you like helping out with fun activities and meeting spectacular people? The following projects/committees are just a sampling of how you can become involved!
We are currently electing Board Members & Committee Chairs for the 2011-2012 school year. If you are interested in co-chairing or shadowing, we welcome your involvement! Contact the volunteer chair to the right and let them know how you’d like to help or download the Crocker Volunteer Form and turn in to your child’s teacher.
PTO Board - working with Committee Chairs, the PTO Board manages the daily organization and activities of the entire Crocker Parent Teacher Organization. Two Co-Presidents, two Co-Vice Presidents, 2 Treasurers and a Secretary make up the PTO Board. For more detailed information about a Board position, contact Melissa King.
Book Fair - manages the fall and spring Scholastic book fairs. The committee will work with a Scholastic rep, teachers, library staff, students & parents.
Childcare - manages child care providers for PTO meetings includes working with 5th grade teachers and students.
C.O.L.A. - manages the donations, funding and volunteers needed for the on-going maintenance and enhancement of the Crocker Outdoor Learning Area. Works with staff, teachers, students, volunteers and community partners. For more information, click on the COLA section.
Communications/Website - responsible for maintaining a current school volunteer email list. When needed they send out various communications using this list. They are also responsible for creating, maintaining, and obtaining information/content for the Crockerpto.com website. Send information you want posted to info@crockerpto.com.
Crocker Spiritwear - responsible for ordering, stocking, publicizing and selling school-related merchandise. This includes creating and sending out order forms and working at various school events throughout the year. For more information, click on the Crocker Spirit page.
Family Activities - plans and coordinates Crocker family events throughout the school year, such as movie nights, swim parties, skate parties, Wendy’s nights, etc.
Field Day - plans and facilitates Crocker’s Field Day, includes coordinating volunteers/donations, designing and running games/activities and working with teachers, staff & students. For more information, click on the Field Day page.
Fine Arts - work with teachers and staff to provide fine art educational opportunities to students throughout the year. Some of the opportunities have included poetry readings, ballet/dance presentations, art workshops, etc.
Food Labels (Box Tops / Campbells / Tyson) - collects Box Tops for Education from drop off locations in the school, counts them and mails them in, by the company set requirements/deadlines twice per year. For more information about the programs, click the following links:

Fun Night - plans and implements the Crocker Fun Night in January or February. Planning includes obtaining donations from vendors, sponsors & parents, planning games/activities, managing volunteers and overall event planning. Two Co-Chairs and a minimum of five members are needed for this fantastic event!
Fundraiser - coordinates the sales of fundraising products and activities throughout the school year, including collecting and filling orders. Fundraising efforts include our Fall fundraiser featuring Crocker Family Recipe Cookbook, Entertainment books and Spelling/Math Bee challenge.
Hospitality - plans and implements staff appreciate events, including monthly events/treats and conference dinners. Staff appreciation relies on donations from parents throughout the entire year!
Photography - obtains photography for various uses (website, newsletter, etc.) and coordinates volunteers to assist with Picture Day.
School Supplies - coordinate school supplies kit order forms and sales in the spring, work with vendor to fulfill orders and distribute kits in the fall. For more information, click on the School Supplies section.
Volunteer/Homeroom Parent - distributes/collects sign-up sheets used during the “Meet the Teacher” night and then distributes information as needed to these volunteers. Part of the committee’s responsibility is ensuring all support positions are filled for the classroom and for Fun Night.
Wendy’s Nights - provides volunteers to greet students and families at Wendy’s nights as well as report to the PTO monthly proceeds. On the 4th Tuesday of every month from 5pm-8pm, the Wendy’s on Delaware Avenue (near Oralabor) donates 10% of their total sales to Crocker. This includes drive-through and in-store dining, so take the family to dinner and support Crocker too!
Yearbook - responsible for creating and publishing the school yearbook. The committee will obtain photos of all major school events, communicate with the yearbook publisher to determine publishing parameters and organize student photos in the yearbook. The committee also sends out order forms and coordinates the distribution of the books once completed.
